Video Suite

The video suite in Queen’s Building is bookable to all staff and students and is accessible by lifts.

Staff can book a slot using the online booking system (you will need to log into your UoB account). If you require additional equipment or help filming, please get in touch. Students can request a booking by emailing engineering-info@bristol.ac.uk.

The room is suitable for recording piece-to-camera videos with one or two people. It is equipped with cameras, lights, backdrops and a lightboard. An autocue device is also available to be mounted to one of the cameras. A small round table in the centre of the room can be used to film small group discussions and podcasts as well as equipment demonstrations for practical units.

The recording room is located on the second floor of Queen's Building.

This room provides a quiet and fully-equipped space to create a high-quality teaching materials. This may include using the lightboard to explain concepts or recording close-up demonstrations of equipment. It can also be used for student or staff projects such as educational podcasts.

You can then edit your video using Camtasia (available to Pathways 1 and 3 teaching staff).

Engineering has a range of equipment available for loan.

By borrowing the equipment you agree to the terms of use outlined below.

Terms of use

  • The borrower accepts liability for any loss or damage of the equipment.
  • All items are checked on their return and users will be invoiced the cost for repair or replacement of any lost or damaged items.
  • Equipment loans are usually for one week. If you need the equipment for longer, this may be possible, subject to availability; please ask at time of booking.
  • You must return items borrowed as soon as they are due or when requested to do so.
